2017 LANCER BASEBALL CAMP!

Posted by Lancers Baseball at Jun 20, 2017 6:28AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Don’t forget to sign up for the Lancer Baseball Camp (June 27-30)! Our coaches, who are mostly former campers, work together to give every child a safe, fun and challenging place to play ball. You can expect my team and I to treat your child with respect and consideration in a safe, nurturing environment. The way you play the game and treat others counts and I encourage and expect that in all aspects of camp. The Lancer baseball camp focuses on developing the fundamental skills of hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running. It is our hope as coaches and players to enhance your son’s baseball skill level! See you at the field! ~ Coach Demas

The older camp is set for June 27th at the LHS Varsity field. You may register there if you have not already. Freshman Head Coach Jake Ratka will be in charge of overseeing the activities. It is a fantastic way for your incoming freshmen baseball player to introduce themselves to the LHS staff!

Please email Coach Demas with any questions or for a borchure. bdemas@londonderry.org

The season that started with promise ended in defeat as the Lancers lost to Salem 4-1. The offense never really got on track and failed to make adjustments, the story of the game. Granted, there were too many walks on the day- but the starter bounced back to throw a solid game! The coaches would like to thank the Seniors who have been excellent this year, and to let them know they will be missed! Thank you to all the parents who were positive in their support and the Dugout Club’s constant support!
Next year looks to be promising as we have a high number of returning players, and a lot of arms. With some serious attention to batting approach this could be a dangerous team! Everyone enjoy their summer ball and this webpage will be updated throughout the year (now that I have it figured out!). So check in often!!

Thank you all for a good season! Be well and next pitch.

Lancers earn #9 seed

Posted by Lancers Baseball at May 27, 2017 6:16AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

The boys have earned the #9 seeding and will travel to #8 Salem for a rematch of last year’s preliminary match up! Come support the boys as they will be working hard to achieve team goals!
Game time is 4 pm!

Nick Salcito came in “relief” of Anthony Pirolli for a suspended game. Sal ended up throwing 6 exceptionally strong innings and kept the Lancers in the game until the final hit of the 9th. He ended up with a stat line of 6 IP, 4 hits, 8 k and 2 walks. It was a great way to end the regular season as the boys have come together after a VERY rough start to the week, perfect timing!
The game was first tied up with a Xander LaPlante 3b followed by a Shane McNamara sac fly. North fought back and was leading going into the bottom of the 6th. McNamara lead off with a big double and pinch runner Nick Cote came in to wind up in a first and third situation. Ricky Perry executed a great run down (advanced to second) while Cote scored the tying run. Fast forward to the 9th. Dakota Johnson got on with an error and advanced on a bad throw. With 1 out in the bottom of the 9th Andy Ross stepped in and pulled a sharp single down the right field line as Johnson scored the winning run!
Today was a great team effort and we were able to use our playoff roster as well! When we get back at it it’s time to get ready for playoffs!
Good work today….

Peabody solid as Lancers beat Memorial

Posted by Lancers Baseball at May 24, 2017 8:10PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Travis Peabody showed he has a future as a starter tonight as he got his first varsity win of his career! He gave Londonderry 4 innings of 1 earned run baseball to get his team going after a difficult loss vs Keene on Monday. Peabs was solid as he struck out 4, walked 2 and gave up 5 hits on the day. Dakota Johnson came in for the final three innings for the save by giving up 2 hits, 2 K’s, and 1 BB. Both pitchers showed well today.
At the plate Nate Sullivan and Jonny Meskell lead the hitting with 2 hits apiece. Sully have an rbi, triple and scored 2 runs. While Jonny had 2 rbi, 2 stolen bases and scored a run. It was nice to get up and put this away. Now onto senior night in a playoff-prep game vs North. Show up and support our boys!
