News and Announcements

Evan Cormier entered the game in the second inning with the Lancers trailing 4-0. He promptly kept the team in the game and closed out the come-from-behind win today! He made adjustments as needed and just let his defense do the heavy lifting, it was great to see another contribution from a different member of the team.
At the plate Reece Manor and Sean Cavanaugh each had 3 hits. Manor collected 4 rbi’s on the day while Cavanaugh scored 3 runs himself. Chris Tutt and Brandon Fish each contributed two hits in the win.
Best thing about this win was the Lancers not laying down after they went down early 4-0. They stormed back with an 11 run inning to take the win! Great work boys, nice to see your hard work paying off!

Nolan Lincoln improved to 2-0 on the young season with a complete game gem vs Exeter. There were a couple touchy moments where Nolan had to pull it together, but overall he kept the Blue Hawks off balance on the day. His line, 9 K, 1 walk, 6 hits was impressive!
Defensively the Lancers made all the plays there needed to make and kept their heads throughout the whole day. Nick Cote, Jack Dingman, and Reece Manor each had an rbi. It was a good team win and the boys are moving on to another game tomorrow!

The Lancers won in the bottom of the 12th inning 10-9 over Winnacunnett. Owen MacDonnell stepped to the plate and delivered as he went 4-6 on the day! There were many highs and too many lows, but the one factor that can’t be coached is that this team did not give up. We came back from being down 3 different times to take the win. It was a fight and both teams were better at the end of it.
It was a long day at the park and the team showed, again, that they are mentally ready for the grind of a solid baseball season! Great work boys!!

Owen MacDonnell took the mound as the starting pitcher for the first time of his Varsity career, and he lived up to expectations! O put up 5 strong innings of 3 hit baseball, striking out 7 and walking only 2. His pitches were working and he was efficient with what he wanted to get done. When Dover put the ball in play the defense stepped up, for the most part!
Luke “Nacho” Marsh came in for the last two innings to close it out with 1 hit and 2 K’s. Dover was a scrappy team that didn’t give up all day. It was a great pitching performance!
At the plate Nick Cote set the tone, going 3-3 with an rbi, stolen base and a double. Nick has made a small adjustment in his swing and we have been seeing the dividends pay off!! Brandon Fish had a huge triple to drive in a run, while Reece Manor’s consistent approach produced another run and rbi. Zack Luongo played stellar defense in center to go along with his own single and rbi! It was a great team win today, and the team has a quick turnaround versus a talented Winnacunnett team!

The opening frame of the 2019 season was not what the Lancers were looking for. Defensively the boys gave up 3 unearned runs on 3 errors to put themselves in a hole. Nolan Lincoln dominated in his first Varsity action though. He didn’t let that get to him as he cruised to a complete game (mercy rule shortened) 1 hitter while he trusted his teammates to do their part. Nolan was unflappable and really showed why the coaching staff is so excited about what he can bring to a D1 mound!
On offense the Lancers put up 7 hits on the day. The highlight was Nick Cote’s inside-the-park two run home run! 4 Lancers put up 2 rbi’s on a cold blustery day. It was good to see them settle down and fight when the pitcher they were facing was very good!
This was a good opening effort, still things to work on tomorrow! Dover at home on Friday!
