News and Announcements

The Lancers have enjoyed a fairly good season to this point. That is why it was disappointing to see approach in the loss to Nashua North tonight, 4-3. The boys came with a flat effort that did not meet the bar they have set to this point, and North made them pay for it.
At the plate, the boys had 9 hits, lead by 3 hits for Sean Cavanaugh and 2 hits for Zack Luongo. Back at it tomorrow vs Keene!

The Lancers went into Monday’s game expecting a hard-fought game, and both teams came through on that. On a day where the wind was a bigger factor than normal at the Park many baseballs were flying around! One of the biggest plays illustrated how one bad break can really do damage in a baseball game. In a 2-2 game a ball was hit deep to CF. Zack Luongo gave a great effort to get the ball but when it landed the ball embedded into the ground. While the boys were trying to get it out, BG cleared the bases in what proved to be the winning runs!
The pitching was ok today, but there is work to be done. At the plate Brandon Fish had a great day, going 4-4 with 3 doubles and 2 rbi. Unfortunately most of the rest of the line up wasn’t able to cash in on many runners that were on base.
It is a good lesson for the boys, and one that can hopefully push them to get to where they know they belong….

The weather is not a friend right now. Today’s game against Keene has been postponed to next Thursday at Keene. Tomorrow’s game vs Central Catholic is looking like it will move from 11 to 1 o’clock! Stay tuned!

When Nolan Lincoln takes the mound the Lancers are very confident in what they are going to get. A very good pitching performance, and someone who will put the team on his back. He did that today, going 7 full giving up 2 runs and striking out 8 while walking 2. Bedford had a couple key hits and was able to tie it up in the top of the seventh. It was the team’s turn to pick up Nolan, and they responded.
The Lancers belted out 10 hits on the day, with two hits each from Zack Luongo, Luke Marsh, and Owen MacDonnell. The Bulldogs pulled ahead in the top of the 9th. In the bottom after two quick outs, sophomore Brandon Fish legged out an infield basehit. Tyler Kayo stepped to the plate and hit a single that was misplayed into a double while scoring Fish with the tying run. With two outs Luongo laced a single down the right field line to score Kayo with the winning run! It is a continued testament to the resiliency and character of this team not to give up. Good game today boys! Now we get ready for Saturday!

Evan Cormier entered the game in the second inning with the Lancers trailing 4-0. He promptly kept the team in the game and closed out the come-from-behind win today! He made adjustments as needed and just let his defense do the heavy lifting, it was great to see another contribution from a different member of the team.
At the plate Reece Manor and Sean Cavanaugh each had 3 hits. Manor collected 4 rbi’s on the day while Cavanaugh scored 3 runs himself. Chris Tutt and Brandon Fish each contributed two hits in the win.
Best thing about this win was the Lancers not laying down after they went down early 4-0. They stormed back with an 11 run inning to take the win! Great work boys, nice to see your hard work paying off!
