News and Announcements

Dakota Johnson came in with the bases loaded in the second inning with the Lancers down 6-1. He not only stopped the bleeding, but went on to pitch no-run baseball the rest of the game. It was an impressive showing out of the bullpen and one we hope he can continue to do!
At the plate Reece Manor and Anthony Ferraro both contributed 2 hits apiece. The boys were on base all night and didn’t back down at any point!
While today was a loss on the scoreboard, the coaches are pleased that the boys have continued to show they have turned the corner and are ready for a strong run to the playoffs!

Reece Manor was given an opportunity to take the last starting rotation spot and he seized on it today! He threw a complete game, 2 hitter, striking out 7 and not giving up a run. It was impressive has he had all his pitches dancing in the zone while his defense made play after play! The biggest play on the day happened on a misplayed ball in the outfield. Rick Perry was backing it up and started a perfect relay to Nate Sullivan to Jack Dingman to gun down a sure run at the plate!
Offensively Perry and Manor joined up again. Rick laced a triple to left field and was driven in by Manor, to score the only run of the game.
It was a total team effort and the second half the season is off to a 2-0 start. Keep moving forward!

The Lancers hope the second half of the season doesn’t mirror the first, and they are off to a promising start. Lead by Nate Sullivan on the mound the boys beat a solid Salem team 11-5. Sullivan got the start and, despite taking a ball off his pitching hand, turned in a gutsy performance to take the win. Travis Peabody came in to close out the game with 2 solid innings.
At the plate numerous Lancers had good performances. Reece Manor had 2 hits and 2 rbi, Sullivan had 3 hits, Anthony Ferraro scored 3 runs and drove in a run, Jake Bolduc had a huge day going 2-4 with an rbi and 2 runs scored! Dylan Walsh recorded 2 hits and drove in 2. And Jack Dingman drove in 2 while gettint 2 hits!
Overall, it was a promising start to the second half of the season- let’s hope it keeps going vs Timberlane!

Anthony Pirolli deserved a better fate today. On a beautiful Saturday day at the park, he threw the ball well. He was keeping Pinkerton to dink hits and bloops- all legit hits of course- but they didn’t really square any hits up on him. A sign that the pitcher is on.
At the plate Sean Cavanaugh justified the JV coaches’ faith in him as he went 2-3 at the plate. Brandon Fish also had a hit on the day to go with a stolen base. Other than that the Lancers hit the ball (again) just at people (again). The only thing we can do is go forward from here. It does no good to dwell on the past, but people need to step up or step out in the next game. Still a half a season left to get ready for the playoffs!

The Lancers lost tonight to Nashua South 8-6. The pitching was an area of concern, but showed more promise than it has in the early part of the season.
At the plate Reece Manor had 3 hits to pace the Lancers, while Brandon Fish had two hits and driving in 2 on the day with a big triple in the 7th.
The boys need to focus up and make things happen rather than wait for them to happen and react. We will get there but time is not a friend. The coaches have decided to make a few changes in the structure of the team/line up. Let’s see who responds.
